I believe all people have the capacity to build a fulfilling life, however, many barriers may be interfering with your current sense of satisfaction. I help you explore what unique factors are getting in the way for you, with a focus on reinforcing your strengths. I can help you to recognize, access, and adapt your internal and outside resources to decrease your distress and promote lasting growth. I am optimistic about your potential for healing and transformation, and have confidence in your ability to meet your goals.

Clients and colleagues often comment on my affirming and non-judgmental stance, and I believe this comes from my deep respect for my clients. I love counterculture ideas and people, and work well with "outsiders" and those on the margins. I am sex-positive and affirming of all sexual and gender identities and expressions, and relationship configurations. I am also committed to understanding and integrating my clients' multiple interconnected identities, such as race/ethnicity, disability, religion/spirituality, and social class.

Clinical specialties. My primary focus is queer, transgender, and nonbinary (LGBTQ+) affirmative mental health. I am also a member of the community. In addition, I specialize in physical disability and chronic illness, sexual and relationship trauma, anxiety, stress management, and life transitions.

Multicultural Feminist CBT therapist. Your individualized treatment plan will be developed collaboratively, with your concerns as the starting point. I carefully tailor our sessions to align with your goals, strengths, experiences, and values. Although my work is integrative, I view struggles from a multicultural and feminist therapy lens. As a multicultural feminist therapist, I take into account social and environmental factors, cultural beliefs, and messages that influence how you view yourself, your problems, and your solutions. I also draw from queer and gender affirmative therapy, and disability affirmative therapy. Therapeutic approaches I regularly use include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness and relaxation techniques, and interpersonal process.
